About Chris Carley

Producer writer co-host Chris Carley headshot

Chris Carley is from Fargo, North Dakota, where he was a state high school speech champion in the Radio Broadcast competition.

He started his entertainment career as an intern for Universal Studios (the actual movie studio – not the theme park). He became an assistant to three talent agents and eventually became a junior talent agent – sort of like a made-man-in-training.

In May 2004, he joined William Shatner’s Melis Productions, serving as Mr. Shatner’s professional and personal assistant.  He also co-produced two critically acclaimed films: the award-winning William Shatner’s Gonzo Ballet and the Shatner-directed bio-doc The Captains, which was recently adapted into a mini-series.

For six years, he produced Shatner’s annual Hollywood Charity Horse Show, an intimate, equestrian-themed event benefiting children’s charities. The gala’s performers included such musical talent as Willie Nelson, Randy Travis, Lyle Lovett, Sarah McLachlan, Ben Folds and others.  Carley’s other philanthropic activities have included work with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, LAPD & LAFD Safe Summer Tip-Off, and Union Station Homeless Services.

He and his wife live in Los Angeles.
